Paper Sanctuaries: A Meditative Journey Through Drawing, Collage, and Bookmaking Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10 AM - 1 PM PDT, 1 PM - 4 PM EDT Three-hour Zoom Workshop with Erica Pizza
In a world that demands constant attention, Paper Sanctuaries offers a rare clearing for quietude and creation. This workshop invites participants to explore the profound relationship between the spaces we inhabit and the inner landscapes of the mind. Combining the grounding practice of guided meditation with the tactile arts of expressive drawing and hand-bound bookmaking, students will learn to transform fleeting thoughts into a tangible home for their reflections. We will use blind contour drawing and mark-making to respond to the stillness of our environment. Participants will curate these visual meditations alongside short-form writing and collage, ultimately binding them into a unique, handmade accordion-folded book. The result is a "portable sanctuary"—a personal archive of peace that students can carry with them long after the workshop ends. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, prioritizing a mindful process and a sensory connection to materials over technical perfection.

Loosen up, find your creative self in this three-day workshop led by internationally known mixed-media artist Bob Burridge.
Discover the use of a new/old element in your artwork. In this two-day workshop, participants will use the discarded and the worn -- old books, maps, photos, letters, documents -- to create works of artistic beauty. Sylvia will guide you through processes to resurrect and repurpose these delicate items of the past into works of precious wonder.
In this hands-on workshop, Rachelle will demonstrate techniques on how to collage onto unstretched #4 heavy canvas, which will then be coated with heat-resistant acrylic varnish.
