Susanne Belcher had one of her Image Transfer Collages accepted in the Brand 37 Works on Paper National Exhibition which opens Saturday, September 27 (from 4-7pm) at the Brand Library, Burbank.

Lana Grow Acrylic and Collage Aqua Media Experimental and Energizing Workshop. 5 day workshop taught by Lana Grow, March 3-7, 2008, to be held at Goleta Valley Community Center, Goleta, CA. Lana L. Grow is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, Red River Watercolor Society, Society of Layerists in Multi Media and the International Society of Experimental Artists. She has won numerous awards in International and National juried shows. This class is geared for intermediate and advanced painters, experience watermedia & acrylics painters, or the open-minded non-intimidated beginner painter. Download PDF for full details.

Barbara Tabachnick has two paintings in the “Deck the Walls” exhibit at Satsuma Gallery in NoHo. The show runs until January 12. She also won third prize at the Score VI show at VIVA Gallery in November 2007.

Belcher05/07: Susanne Belcher got 2 pieces juried into the WPW Show “There's No Stopping Her Now” at VIVA Gallery, and three pieces were accepted into the WPW Show being held at The Channel Islands CSU Art Galleries in Camarillo - and, an Honorable Mention.

05/07: The Atelier is featuring Susanne Belcher’s work at Edward Jones Investments in Chatsworth (corner Lassen and Topanga Canyon Blvd.) accompanied by Norma Klein’s fused glassworks. Show runs June 4 – August 4, 2007 with a Reception on Sunday, June 24, from 1–3pm. Pictured here is Susanne’s mixed media collage “Temperatures Rising” (click for larger version).

02/07: Barbara Tabachnick has been invited to display four paintings at the Ontario Airport: “How to Look at Architecture” from March 7 to July 11, 2007 (beyond the security area, so the exhibit only can be viewed by those with air tickets). The exhibition is curated by Mary Oliver of the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery Slide Registry.

10/06: Susanne Belcher and Darlene Mellein each had a piece accepted into the Brand 35 Works on Paper National Juried Exhibition at the Brand Library Art Galleries. Exhibition dates: December 16, 2006 – January 19, 2007. Reception & Awards: December 16, 2006, 5–7 pm.

10/06: Susanne Belcher and m. Rheuban each had a piece accepted into the SCORE Show at VIVA.

10/06: Susanne Belcher, Darlene Mellein, and Joan Foster had pieces juried into the Women Painters West “On The Surface” show at VIVA.

10/06: The Bloch Party: An Exhibition of 22 Artists from Ilana Bloch’s Workshops working in a wide array of styles and media at the Arthouse Gallery at TVA , 416 Broadway, Santa Monica. Runs Wednesday, October 11 thru Sunday, October 29, 2006. Reception: Saturday, October 21, 5:30–8:30pm. Meet the Artists: Sunday, October 29, 1–4pm.

08/06: CAA Member Lee Goldberg has work featured at La Fuer Galleries in Beverly Hills. “Come see my latest flowers in my flower series. I will also be featuring a never-before-seen painting titled ‘We Miss You Laura.’ Painted in Prussian blue, it captures a deep sadness that has even drawn tears from viewers. This painting is part of a blue series of paintings that I have never before released for viewing.” Location: La Fuer Galleries, 228 S. Robertson Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211. (310) 601-7801. ARC: Artists’ Resource for Completion Grants

ARC grants provide rapid, short-term assistance of up to $3,500 to individual artists who live in Los Angeles County. Funds must be used to enhance work that is near completion and scheduled for presentation within six months of the grant application deadline. Artists in any discipline may apply. Applicants must have a secure invitation from an established organization to present their work. There are four grant cycles per year. The maximum grant award has increased to $3,500.
