Meeting: January 26, 2007
Guest presenter: Ursula Kammer-Fox
Please join us on Friday, January 26th at 10:30am for an exciting presentation from one of Los Angeles foremost collage and assemblage artists.
Ursula Kammer-Fox creates collages and assemblages, because “they allow me to explore the ambiguities of power, religion and sex, while recycling man- and nature-made leftovers, rediscovering and rearranging the familiar, telling unfinished stories.
But sometimes I create just to enjoy the materials.”
Born in Bad Nauheim, Germany, Ursula moved to Los Angeles in 1975. She started studying art in earnest in 1993 and began exhibiting the following year. She has had solo shows at LA Artcore, Barnsdall Art Center, and Gallery 825 among others.
Visit her website for a gallery of images and a list of accomplishments and awards.
Ursula is is currently working to develop her Oooks® characters into a children’s movie and/or TV series. The Oooks project has a complete Show Bible and dozens of characters. Many were shown at Artcore in 2006, and there will be another show at Riverside Art Museum in 2007.
